Indian Republic Day -Monkmart

Jan 26th is one of the remarkable days in India since it is Republic Day. It is one of the important days that bring out the patriotic feeling in the hearts of Indian citizens and with national pride, everyone pins up the national flag on their chest. History 

After the victory in getting the great Independence of our nation from the British Empire after the end of the second world war, a council was arranged for drafting the Indian constitution. The profound scholar Dr.B.R.Ambedkar was assigned as the leader of that drafting committee. Ambedkar stood forth constantly and framed the constitution. Ambedkar argued for extensive economic and social rights for women, children, deprived and hoped to eradicate the socio-economic inequalities. The Indian Constitution was adopted on November 26th, 1949. Dr.B.R.Amedkar spent his whole life for the betterment of the poor, untouchables, and deprived classes and worked hard to remove the socio-inequalities and so, his contribution to the Indian Constitution is remarkable. Thus he is called as "Father of the Indian Constitution". The preamble of the Indian Constitution was published on this day. 


Indian Flag 

The Indian tri-color which seen with great respect and symbolizes the courageous history and the great sacrifices of our national freedom fighters. 

The colors in the Indian flag symbolizes :

  • Saffron stands for sacrifice and renunciation

  • White stands for peace 

  • Green stands for courage and immortality

On every national function and Republic day, The Indian national flag is hoisted in all public places, government buildings, educational institutions, historical buildings, etc. All the people who participate in the function of hoisting the national flag keep our national tri-color flag over their chest to show national patriotism. 


Leaders 

Republic is a form of government where "the supreme power is held by the people and its elected representatives". Republic government was a dream of all Indian citizens when India was controlled as a colony by the British empire. Many people fought for national independence and democracy and sacrificed their whole life for the nation. Republic government of India was possible only by the national leaders and many freedom fighters. Leaders don't think only about their empowerment but bring forward the whole society with them. The works of our freedom fighters never get forgotten.
